Fundraiser planned

SPRING VALLEY — A fundraiser for Diana Castaneda will be held April 26 at the Spring Creek Golf Course in Spring Valley.

Diana, a LaSalle-Peru special education teacher, underwent brain surgery Nov. 13, 2103, to remove a benign tumor on the frontal lobe of her brain. After the surgery, she suffered brain swelling causing two more brain surgeries, all within six days, leaving her in a comatose state. She is currently in Pleasant View Nursing Home in Ottawa trying to recover from this devastation, and her bills are unsurmountable.

A chicken dinner will be served between 4 and 7 p.m. and a silent auction will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Dinner music will be provided by Jimmy Essl and Phil in the Blanks, who will play until 11 p.m.

Tickets for the event are $15 and can be purchased by any committee member or at Angelo’s and Valley Bar & Grill in Spring Valley, and Maria’s and Lizzie Balcone’s in Oglesby. Advanced ticket purchases are appreciated. Tickets will also be available at the door.
