Paula Beams

PRINCETON — Paula I. Beams, 69, of Princeton passed away on Friday, March 21, 2014, at Perry Memorial Hospital.

She was born on March 31, 1944, in Princeton to Rex I. Lawrence and Ruth (Forney) Lawrence. She graduated from Walnut High School 1962 and then attended Blackhawk and Northern Illinois University. She married Albert Kent Beams on April 1, 1966, in Walnut Methodist Church.

She was an active member of Elm City Belles, Eastern Star, and First United Methodist Church. She also taught Sunday school, Bible school, and adult Bible school. She enjoyed church choir, crochet, plastic canvas work, gardening, and cooking.

She is survived by her son, Brian Beams of Princeton; two daughters, Brema Beams of Princeton and Betsy Beams of Chicago; and one sister, Stephanie Haskell of Spring Valley.

She was preceded by her mother, Ruth E. Lawrence; her father, Rex I. Lawrence; and her sister, Brema Lawrence.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the First Methodist Church of Princeton, the Rev. George Woosnam officiating. Burial will follow in the Walnut Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. Friday, March 28, at the church.
