WALNUT — Peggy Sue Sarver, 67, of Walnut died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Walnut Manor Nursing Home in Walnut.
Peggy was born Nov. 6, 1946, in Sterling, the daughter of Henry and Margaret (Whipple) Burgess. She was united in marriage to Everett Lee Sarver on Oct. 1, 1965, in Walnut.
Peggy worked at Walnut Manor Nursing Home for many years, First Federal Savings Bank as a custodian and for more than 25 years at the Shell Station in Walnut, serving as manager for six years. She babysat for many children in Walnut, enjoyed gardening and Bingo. She was a member of Eastern Star, Walnut Chamber of Commerce and Happy Hookers. She was also a former member of the Walnut High School Board and on the Walnut Chamber Hall of Fame.
She is survived by her husband, Everett Lee Sarver of Walnut; one daughter, Diane Sarver of Princeton; one son, Michael Sarver of Walnut; one brother, Robert Burgess of Gibson City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Chad; and one brother in infancy.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, March 31, at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut with the Rev. Brian Moore, pastor of the First Christian Church of Walnut, officiating.
Visitation will be from 2 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the Garland Funeral Home in Walnut.
A memorial has been established in lieu of flowers.
