Viola Mae Witty

PRINCETON — Viola Mae Witty, 95, of Princeton passed away Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at Liberty Village of Princeton.

She was born on a farm in LaMoille on Dec. 11, 1918, to Wilbert and Mabel (Hall) Wade. She attended grade and high school at Allen School in LaMoille, graduating there in 1937. After school she worked in different homes doing housework. She joined the Methodist church in LaMoille in 1930, where she taught Sunday school for 10 years. She worked at the sewing factory for two years, then at Harper-Wyman for 15 years until her retirement.

She was a member of Princeton Bible Church since 1975. She belonged to the Dorcas fellowship and worked on the hospitality committee at the church as well. She volunteered in the gift shop Perry Memorial Hospital. She married Clarence E. Schultz in January 1939.

She is survived by her three daughters, Joyce (Robert) Funderberg of Tiskilwa, Nancy (Jim) Erlenborn of Peru and Judy (Steve) Mc Call of Princeton; eight grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pearl May of Stillman Valley.

She was preceded in death by the father of her children, Clarence Schultz; two brothers; and two sisters.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, March 31, at the Norberg Memorial Home, Princeton, with Pastor Ken Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Elm Lawn Memorial Park, Princeton.

The family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Sunday, March 30, at the funeral home.
