Local and state leaders attended Saturday’s tree dedication sponsored by the Princeton-Illinois Chapter of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution, held on the lawn of Princeton City Hall on Main Street. Guest of honor was DAR Illinois State Regent Pamela Petersen Bork. The dedicatory marker at the tree site notes the confluence of the recent anniversaries of four events: The signing of the Constitution (225 years ago), War of 1812 (200 years), founding of Bureau County (175 years) and the Civil War (150). Shown in the photo are (left side front row from left) Beverly Larson, Princeton Regent Sharon Bittner; (left side, middle row) Nancy Gillfillan, Chaplain Lois Peterson, Diana Williamson; and (left side, back row) Eva Blanco, Pat Polson and Al Taylor of Elite Landscaping. Shown on the right side of the photo are (front row) State Regent Pamela Bork, Bonnie Schutt, Delores Dace; and (right side, back row) Agnes Roth, Princeton Mayor Keith Cain, Princeton City Manager Jeff Clawson and Marie Roth.
