The Career Development Division (CDD), a division of the Community Bankers Association of Illinois (CBAI), named Haley Guisti, compliance/loan officer, North Central Bank, Hennepin, as its 2013-14 Economic Educator.
The award was presented at the CDD annual spring meeting held in Springfield. This award was created to encourage and reward community bankers for becoming involved in economic education within their communities. CDD members submitted summary forms on any economic education projects, presentations, etc., they completed from March 2013 through March 2014.
Guisti has been instrumental in promoting the bank’s scholarship program which includes the CBAI’s Foundation for Community Banking Scholarship Program. This has led to the awarding of 11 financial scholarships to local high school seniors.
She has been instrumental in promoting financial literacy to the community. Guisti is the facilitator of the bank’s Superstar Saver Kid’s Club which provides members with monthly worksheets during the school year that are financial and mathematical in nature. These programs include school visits by Guisti to work with the students and teachers when needed. The bank works with the children to promote hard work and the importance of saving by paying students for the “A’s” they earn on their report cards. Guisti also coordinates a visit by elementary school children to the bank showing them each department and explaining the function of their bank in the community. Finally, Guisti also helps to coordinate Community Banking Week at the Hennepin location. Guisti continues to work diligently to provide quality financial education to her community.
Guisti resides in Mark with her husband, Tony; her daughter, Chloe; and stepdaughter, Evelyn.
