PRINCETON — In preparation for the semi-annual water main flushing, the city of Princeton Water Department has increased the chlorine level in the water. Residents may notice a strong odor of chlorine. If the odor is objectionable for drinking, keep a pitcher of water in a refrigerator for drinking. The chlorine will dissipate from the water after a few minutes.
The semi-annual, city-wide water main flushing will take place between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday and continue for approximately two weeks. Customers may experience a strong chlorine odor, cloudy or discolored water and brief periods of low water pressure. For more information, call the water plant at 815-879-8066.
