MESQUITE, Texas — Donald Albert Burrell of Mesquite, Texas, formerly of Princeton, died peacefully Sunday, April 20, 2014.
He was born Sept. 12, 1921, in Annawan to Harry and Luella (Clemmentz) Burrell. He was raised and educated in Tiskilwa. He served in the military during World War II from 1941 to 1945.
He married Evelyn Edith King Aug. 11, 1943, and remained married until her death on June 18, 2005.
Surviving are his children, Carolyn A. Jones of Santa Fe, N.M., Donald D. Burrell of Bloomington-Normal, Steven M. (Sandra) Burrell of Bloomington-Normal, Mary Kate (the Rev. Douglas) Sopher of Princeton and Barbara J. (Alan) Henderson of Crandall, Texas; 17 grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
He was also preceded in death by his parents, three sons, one daughter, one grandchild and one great-grandchild.
Cremation rites have been accorded. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, June 18, in Seagoville, Texas.
The Roselawn Cemetery and Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
