The Hall Red Devils rode the pitching of A.J. Gaeta and Taggart Venegas to a 7-1 win over Princeton in Three Rivers South play Monday at Kirby Park in Spring Valley.

Gaeta pitched one-run ball over six innings, striking out four to get the win. Venegas pitched a scoreless seventh inning in relief.

“A.J. threw well for us. We were able to get some kids on, bunt them around, and we were also able to hit some gaps to score some runners for us as well,” Hall coach Tom Keegan said.

Both also helped out at the plate, Venegas cracking three hits and Gaeta adding a RBI double. Trevor and Zach Urbanski each added two hits.

Logan Wilde accounted for both of the Tigers’ hits, including a solo shot in the fourth inning to tie the game at 1. Hall responded with three runs in the home half and three more in the fifth.

Newman 11, Bureau Valley 0: Comets pitcher Quincy Coomes shut out the Storm on two hits while striking out seven in five innings Monday in Manlius.

Hall 14, Henry 0: Austin Schmitt and Julian Barroso blanked the Mallards on one hit Tuesday at Henry. Tyler Taber, Venegas and Adam Sangston each had two hits for the Red Devils.
