Benadine Martin

WYANET — Benadine E. Martin, 88, of Wyanet died Sunday, April 27, 2014, at Liberty Village in Princeton.

Benadine was born Aug. 12, 1925, in Vernon County, Missouri, to Rista and Cora (Worsley) Thompson. She graduated from Bureau Township High School and married Bernard Martin at the St. Louis Catholic Church on June, 28, 1944.

Benadine spent the first two years of married life with her husband in the service then raised a loving family on the farm northwest of Wyanet since 1946. She worked on the farm, worked four years at Perry Memorial Hospital and was a Bible Club member for 60 years. She loved playing the piano, playing cards and traveling.

Survivors include her husband of nearly 70 years, Bernard; one daughter, Linda Grimmer of Kansas City; three sons, Jim Martin (Deb Lyle) of Wyanet, Terry Martin and Jeff Martin (Leanne) of Princeton; one daughter-in-law, Diana Martin of Princeton; seven grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters and four brothers.

A funeral Mass will be at 11 a.m., Thursday, May 1, at St. Louis Catholic Church in Princeton with Father Jeffery D. Stirniman officiating. Visitation will begin at 9:30 a.m. at the Parish Hall prior to the funeral service. Burial will be in Elm Lawn Memorial Park in Princeton.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Louis Catholic Church.
