PRINCETON — American Legion Woman’s Auxiliary Unit 125 of Princeton conducted its second largest veterans workshop of the year on April 16 at the Legion Post Home.

Nine members were present to put the baskets together that were donated by the CWU Closet in Princeton. Items placed in the baskets were fresh fruit, special diet treats, chips, candies, plastic eggs filled with Peeps and chocolate eggs, other candies, cookies, snack cakes and personal care items. After the baskets were filled with all the treats, the baskets were placed inside large Easter-decorated cellophane bags and set aside to be delivered to the four nursing homes the Auxiliary Unit supports each month with workshops for the veteran residents in those homes.

“We do these workshops for our in-care veterans as a means of saying ‘thank you’ to them for their service to our country,” said Clara Pease, VA&R chairman.

To make a monetary donation to the Unit to continue its veterans work, send to Clara Pease, VA&R Chairman, 321 Briar Lane, Princeton, IL 61356; or to ALA 125, 1549 W. Peru St., Princeton, IL 61356, Attn: Veterans.
