STREATOR — The Rotary Foundation awarded a grant of $1,260 to the Youth Service Bureau and the Princeton Rotary Club, District 6420, matched the grant and added an additional amount of $480 to bring the total to $3,000 — the estimated amount for the requested furniture and supplies.

Steinberg’s Furniture played a big part in these kind acts of generosity by reducing the cost of all of the furniture to deeply discounted prices.

“I recently had the pleasure of being in the new family visitation rooms, and they are even more beautiful than I had imagined. Knowing that the children in need of therapy, (sometimes alone and sometimes with their families), will be able to enjoy the comfort and aesthetic atmosphere, is great value-added to the treatment programs provided by YSB therapists," said Frank Vonch, YSB executive director.

In addition to the furniture, art supplies, books and developmental toys were included to be used in the treatment of children.

Lisa Gustafson, YSB director of treatment, said "it is very important to have updated and culturally sensitive, therapeutic materials, e.g., dolls and games so that all the clients will be able to relate in play therapy.”
