Chapel Hill League forming

PRINCETON — A ladies league is forming at Chapel Hill Golf Course starting Tuesday with a golf scramble and dinner. BVHS to host Chute Camp

MANLIUS — Bureau Valley High School will be hosting the Chute Basketball Shooting Camp on June 16-17. There will be sessions for Grades 9-12 boys and girls from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. and for Grades 4-7 boys and girls from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. Cost is $70 with a $30 non-refundable deposit.

PHS cookout

PRINCETON — The Princeton High School girls basketball team will have a cookout fundraiser from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at Sullivan’s Foods in Princeton.

Eagle Run/Walk 5K

PRINCETON –Princeton Christian Academy will host the Eagle Run/Walk 5k starting at 8 a.m. June 14 at Zearing Park. There is a competitive 5K run and a fitness walk. There will be medals for top three places in 12 age divisions.

Jimmy D Golf Outing

SPRING VALLEY — The 32nd Annual Jimmy D Golf Outing will be held July 13 at Spring Creek Golf Club and Deer Park Country in Oglesby. The event is named for James A. Jimmy D” DeAngelo, who died in 1983 at the age of 37 after fighting cancer. It was the wish of Jimmy and his family to raise funds to help cancer patients.

Last year’s event raised $18,000 for area patients, and over the past 31 years, it has raised more than $6380,000. This year’s proceeds will benefit the Esophageal and Colon Cancer Center under construction of St. Margaret’s Hospital in Spring Valley.

The committee is seeking hole sponsors for $100 and cart sponsors for $25. For more information about sponsorships, or to sign up to play golf in the event, call Diane Janz at 815-664-7260.

Beebe hosts prep combine

GENESEO — Former Super Bowl star Don Beebe, along with Geneseo coach Larry Johnson will be putting on a combine for football players that are 16-18 years old on May 10 at Geneseo High School. Beebe said this combine is intended to give athletes in smaller towns a chance to be seen by college coaches just like the athletes in the big city areas.
