PRINCETON — Dede and John Everet opened E & M Power Sports on April 1 at 1210 E. Backbone Road in Princeton.

“We sell used and new ATVs, snowmobile and mowers. We sell Simplicity, Snapper and Dolmar power equipment,” he said. “We also sell Under Armour, Nike and Aeropostale clothing. We sell Oakley sunglasses and tools. We are also a full-service shop for mowers and ATVS. We don’t work on motorcycles or cars.”

The Everets live in Princeton and felt this store would fill a need for Princeton and surrounding communities so that people won’t have to go to Peru to shop for these items.

“Our prices on clothing are cheaper, if not competitive to big box stores’ prices,” he added. “We offer a large array of products and services. We are avid ATVers and there is a need for a place like this to sell or repair mowers in the Princeton area.”

They have been looking for a place to open their business for six to seven months before choosing the East Backbone Road location.

“We want to support other small businesses in town and stimulate the economy that Princeton needs instead of people going to Peru,” he said.

“We have found some clothing distributors whom can sell these items to us cheaper than bigger stores in Peru,” added Everet. “When we found out we can be competitive or cheaper than big box stores, it was a no brainer to sell clothing. It is of the same quality clothing as other stores and cheaper.”

Hours for E & M Sports are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday through Friday and from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday.

The business has a Facebook page and will have a website in the future. A grand opening is planned this summer. The name of the business is a combination of Everet and Miller, the last name of good friend Ryan Miller, who is a certified mechanic at the business.
