Bureau County Soil and Water Conservation District staff and volunteers hosted 150 Bureau County grade school students for the 11th annual Conservation Kids’ Day.

The students were welcomed with educational goodie bags, a bottle of water and poncho to start their day. There were nine learning stations students participated in throughout the day, including: fish, reptiles, soils, butterflies, nature discovery walk, recycle relay, hunters safety, stream erosion and Native Americans.

The Bureau County SWCD holds this education event every year at Warnecke Woods. For more information about future Conservation Days, contact the office at 815-875-8732, ext. 3.
