Thursday Night Sports Update

Bureau Valley went five for five in Thursday's IHSA 1A State track and Field prelims, qualifying in all five events for Saturday's finals.

LIndsey Hoffert will take part in four of the five. She qualified in the long jump, standing fifth overall with a jump of 17 feet, 1 3/4 inches.

She also qualified in three relays. She ran with Haley DeVoss, Tiana Kennedy and Marissa Mungia in the 4x100, finishing third in its heat and ninth overall with a time of 50.94.

The Storm  finished second in their heat and 9th overall in the 4x200 (1:48.12) with Marissa Mungia, Katelyn Johnson, Tiana Kennedy, and Hoffert.

BV ran the fourth fastest time (4:05.37) in the 4x400 relay on the legs of Helena Osk Arnadottir, Sabrina Web, Kennedy and Hoffert.

Junior Sydney Lebahn joined her BV teammates in Saturday's finals, qualifying in the discus with throw of 113-7.

Non-qualifiers included A/L's Laura Rieker (HJ) and Erika Zimmerlein (200) and Hall's Maddi Quinn (PV).

At Bureau Valley 2A Regional Baseball

Erie/Prophetstown 3, Princeton 2: The Panthers got a 3-run homer in the top of the sixth inning to stun Princeton in Thursday's semifinasl at Bureau Valley. E/P will face St, Bede in Saturday's finals at 10 a.m.
