Friday Night Sports Update

2A boys sectional: Princeton places fourth at the Mendota Sectional. Senior Caleb Strom placed second (22.62) in the 200; Drew Pranka (40.88) and Lenny Mead (40.93) ran 1-2 in the 300 hurdles with Pranka also placed second (15.44) in the 110 HH; and Kai Tomaszewski finished 2nd (51.64) in the 400.

State prelims will be Friday in Charleston.

1A boys sectional: Athletes from BV, Hall and St. Bede qualify for State from the Erie 1A Sectional.

For BV - Tucker Schoff (4th, 300 hurdles, 41.45), Kane Eastwood (1st, 800, 2:01.94); 4x800 relay (1st, 8:12.48); 4x400 relay (1st, 3:28.63).

For Hall - Collin Aimone (2nd in 400, 51.29; 2nd in long jump, 20-11): Al Baldonado (1st, 3200, 9;54.01); 4x100 relay (2nd, 44.34).

For St. Bede - John Barnes (2nd in shot, 48-1, 2nd in discus, 135-6), Michael Slingsby (1st in discus, 136-11).

Newman (101) is sectional champ; BV (51) places fourth; St. Bede (38) is sixth and Hall (37.5) is seventh.

State prelims will be Thursday in Charleston.
