IHSA Boys State Track and Field

Class (1A) at glance:

When: Thursday — field events start at 10 a.m. Track preliminaries start at 11 a.m. Saturday — field/track finals start at 10 a.m.

Where: Charleston.

BCR Insider: Bureau Valley will take the No. 1 seed in the 4x800 relay, having the best sectional time of any entry with Ryan Taylor, Daniel Trone, Colten Peterson and Kane Eastwood. Their 8:12.48 is a school record. If the Storm keep that up or faster, they could very well bring a state championship home.

What BV coach Jeff Ohlsn says: Being the number one seed does not guarantee anything, While it is a great accomplishment, when the races start t (Thursday), it means nothing. The number one seed, is a great accomplishment for the kids that ran it. Colten Peterson, Daniel Trone, Ryan Taylor and Kane Eastwood have put a lot of work in to reach this point, but it also come with a target, because everyone will be shooting to beat that time. We will need to go out and run our race, be mentally tough  and advance to Saturday.
