LASALLE — The North Central Illinois ARTworks will hold their second annual SHINE Gala at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Senica’s Oak Ridge in LaSalle. The event will honor outstanding students artists who have participated in the SHINE Talent Search.

The performances were scored by professionals and educators in the various disciplines. The students with the top scores have been names as the 2014 SHINE honorees. They will perform and show their work at the gala and receive a $100 scholarship and certificate.

The honorees are: Laura Behrends of Princeton, high school, dance; Abbie Bickett of Princeton, high school, vocal music; Gertie Savitch of Spring Valley, junior high school, vocal music; Alexis Beck of Peru, junior high school, visual arts; Emily Maze of Peru, high school, visual arts; Rachel Haas of Peru, high school, instrumental music; Joannah Cisneros of Oglesby, junior high school, instrumental music. There were no honors awarded in the theater and acting category.

The SHINE gala is open to the public. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the performances will begin at 7 p.m. Tickets are $12 each and can be reserved in advance by emailing shine$arts@nciartworks.com or calling 815-228-1253. Tickets purchased at the door are $15.
