BRADFORD — Rosalie A. Gray, 76, of Bradford passed away on Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at Heartland Health Care Center in Henry.
She was born on March 19, 1938, at her home in Kewanee, to William and Christina (Dolieslager) Derick. She married Gerald "Jerry" Gray on June 16, 1956.
He survives with two grandchildren, Jeremy Gray of Princeville, and Jamie (Matt) Gray-Palmer of Princeville, two great-grandchildren, Coley and Channing Palmer; one sister, Janice Beall of Kewanee; one brother-in-law, Mike Porter of Galva; one sister-in-law, Evelyn Gray-Porter of Willford, Ark.; two brothers, Tom Derick of Galva and Dennis (Nancy) Derick of Bradford; and nieces and nephews on both sides of the family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; one son, Kevin Gray; and one brother, Jim Derick.
She was actively engaged in farming with her husband and owned and had operated Merle Norman Cosmetic Studios in Kewanee and Princeton for over 20 years. She had a great love for horses and was an avid trail rider for many years. She was one of the charter members of the Bradford Saddle Tramps Riding Club. Special thanks to the Heartland Health Care Center for the excellent care she had while staying there and Innovative Hospice Care in LaSalle.
She was a member of Saint John Catholic Church and Altar and Rosary Society. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends and for the drive for life she had.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday, June 2, at St. John Catholic Church, Bradford. Fr. Tom Mizeur will officiate. Burial will be in St. John Catholic Cemetery in Bradford.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, June 1, in the Grant-Johnson Funeral Home, Bradford. Prayer services will be after visitation Sunday night at funeral home.
