St. Bede summer camps

Golf Camp Learn the fundamentals of golf with Saint Bede golf coach Rich Cummings.  You will learn the golf swing, grip, stance and alignment.  Some special guest teachers will make appearances throughout the camp.  You need golf clubs and we provide the golf balls. Date:    Tues., June 3rd through Fri., June 6th Time:    9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Cost:    $45.00 includes t-shirt

Wrestling Camp   Head Coach Sean Hobson announces his Bruin Wrestling Camp. With plenty of help from his coaches Gavin Kurtz & Dylan Brejc along with current Bruin wrestlers!  Plan to wrestle, swim, play football, and wrestle for this 3 day camp.  Wrestling instruction covers physical and mental preparation, takedowns, escapes, and pinning combinations.  Headgear and wrestling shoes are recommended but not required.  Snacks will be provided.  New wrestlers welcome.

For students entering 2nd through 8th grades in the fall Dates:  Thursday, June 19th  – Saturday, June 21st  Times:  Thursday: 6 pm – 10:15pm; Friday: 7 am – 1:00 pm; Saturday: 7 am – 6:45 pm Cost:     $50.00, includes snacks and a t-shirt

Swimming Camp Mrs. Joan Jobst has over 30 years of coaching and teaching experience in the water.  Join her for this fun and enjoyable two week course.

Competitive Time:  8:20 a.m. – 9:50 a.m. Date:  Mon., June 23rd through Thur., July 3rd  

Beginner Time:  10:00 a.m. – 10:50 a.m. Date:  Mon., June 23rd through Thur., July 3rd   

Intermediate Time:  11:00 a.m. – 11:50 a.m. Date:  Mon., June 23rd through Thur., July 3rd    Cost for any level:  $55.00 per swimmer

Cheer Camp 

New Saint Bede Academy cheerleading coach, Danielle Saletzki, along with the Saint Bede cheerleaders will be teaching the skills that have made our cheer group competitive and successful over the past several seasons.  This will be a 3 day camp with a performance for parents on Day 3.  Campers will learn short dance routines, basic sideline cheers, motion techniques, jumps and mounts from the coaches and the current Bruin cheerleaders!

Session One:  Students entering K – 4th grades Time:  11:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m. Session Two: Students entering 5th – 8th grades Time: 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. Date:  Thursday, June 19th and Friday, June 20th

Saturday, June 21st: All grades from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Performance at 12:30 p.m. for all parents

Cost:  $30.00, includes a t-shirt

Speed, Agility and Quickness Camp (All athletes included) This season marks the 17th for Saint Bede track coach Mike Skoflanc.  After being the assistant coach for 2002 and 2003, he assumed the head coaching duties in 2004 at the Academy.  He has 44 state qualifiers and 12 state medalists in cross country and track & field.  He is a NESTA (National Exercise Sports Trainer Association) certified Speed, Agility and Quickness coach and also is a Certified Level One Youth Conditioning Specialist with the IYCA (International Youth Conditioning Association) and ACT (Action Certified Trainer) as a personal fitness trainer.  The Saint Bede Sports Performance Camp is designed to introduce to young athletes the training methods which will enhance their speed, agility and quickness.  Tools needed to become not only a better athlete in all sports, but also an injury free athlete.  The camp will use low impact jump drills, agility ladder drills, and multi-directional foot work drills.  Athletes are guided through a system of progressive exercises and drills designed to enhance the following athletic skills: proper running mechanics, first step reaction, one and two motor learning patterns, coordination and balance, linear and lateral quickness and agility, speed, flexibility and conditioning.  This camp will help build a new confidence and self esteem in your young athlete by developing these skills in a positive and competitive atmosphere.

Lady Bruins Basketball Camp Coach Tom McGunnigal, his coaching staff, and players will offer instruction and demonstration on shooting, passing, dribbling, and defense.  The camp will emphasize the fun in playing as a team and the challenge of competition through games making it enjoyable for all groups.

Session One:  Students entering 4th – 6th grades Time: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Session Two:  Students entering 7th – 9th grades Time: 10:30 – 12:00 p.m.

Date:  Mon., June 9th through Fri., June 13th Cost: $50.00 includes t-shirt and a basketball

Girls’ Basketball Post Camp Lady Bruins’ varsity assistant coach, Stef Kaufmann, brings her experience as a Division 1 college player (UW-Milwaukee) to teach the skills needed for all post players to play at a high level.  Skills taught will range from basic post positioning to making the move to the basket to become better for your team next season.  This will be an intense training camp for those who want to make themselves a better post player.  All players are encouraged to sign up as guards can learn to post up too!!

Open to students entering 7th – 12th grades Time: 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.

Date:  Wed., June 11th and Thurs., June 12th     Cost:  $35.00 includes t-shirt

Boys Basketball Camp Learn the basic fundamentals of basketball - dribbling, passing, rebounding, and defense in a fun and exciting environment!  Under the guidance of head basketball coach Mike Kilmartin, his staff and players, the week long camp will consist of station drills, daily skill challenges, and individual instruction.  The team game with competitions and scrimmages will also be a part of the instruction.

Session One: Students entering grades 4th through 6th Time: 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Session Two: Students entering grades 7th through 9th Time: 10:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.

Volleyball Camp Campers will receive instruction on all skills of the game including hitting, serving, blocking, and setting from our volleyball coach, Dawn Williams, and the current members of the volleyball team.  Through competitive drills and team play campers will improve their game in a positive and supportive camp setting.  Campers are encouraged to bring their own knee pads, if they have them.

Session One:  Students entering 4th – 6th grades Time: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.

Session Two:  Students entering 7th – 9th grades Time: 10:30 – 12:00 p.m.

Lady Bruins Softball Camp Learn basic hitting, fielding, and base running skills from Mike Urbanski, Lady Bruins’ softball coach along with special appearances by players and assistant Lady Bruins’ coaches.  Work on position specific skills and conclude with a skills competition and games. 

Session One:  Students entering 4th-6th grades Time:    9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.

Session Two:  Students entering 7th-9th grades Time:  11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
