Bradford kids run for St. Jude’s

Bradford kids closed the school year with the third annual Panther Stomp 5K run/walk in support of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Andrew Wall and in honor of Tayler Gage.

BRADFORD — The Bradford School District closed the school year with the third annual Panther Stomp 5K run/walk. The 5K was open to fifth graders to adults, the one-half mile race was for third- and fourth-graders, the one-fourth mile race was for first- and second -graders and the 100 meter dash for kindergarten and pre-kindergarten.

All money collected goes to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in memory of Andrew Wall and in honor of Tayler Gage. Through entry fees and donations, a total of $807 was raised. Andrew’s grandparents, Ron and Blanche Wall made a matching donation.

There were cheer stations throughout the course and the school band played during the race. The race was coordinated by junior high teacher Trisha Brown.

The winner of the 5K was Chase Stahl from Bradford in a time of 22:43 and the first female finisher was Candace Stahl of Bradford in a time of 24.42.

The winner of the one-half mile race was Payton Stahl and the first female finisher was Julianna Painter.

The winner of the one-fourth mile was Kaden Wall and the first female finisher was Julie Atkins.

The winner of the 100 meter dash was Haylie Moodie.
