Ladd Village Board

LADD — The Ladd Village Board conducted the following business at its May 29 meeting:

• Accepted a quote of $955 from A & M Guttermen to replace the gutters on the waste water treatment plant building.

• Heard Superintendent Doug Englehaupt report there is an issue with the battery backup for the water tower telemetry.

• Determined the best time to do the transformer replacement project would be on a Tuesday morning at daybreak. The replacement will require a power outage and village customers will be notified in advance.

• Heard JW Ossola has inspected the manhole behind Softails and would be submitting a quote to repair it.

• Received a map of ash trees located on the village’s right-of-way. Several have been identified to have possible Emerald Ash Borer infestation. A quote will be sought to have the trees taken down.

• Commended the Street Department for the excellent job they are doing in the parks. Due to the amount of time needed for grass mowing, the board decided to solicit quotes from lawn care services for mowing of the estimated 14 acres of village property.

• Heard that Braniff has completed the installation of the remote siren activation equipment in the Village Hall.

• Approved the purchase of two radio power mic sets for the squad cars.

• Heard the 2014 Street Program is a work in progress.

• Approved the purchase of security cameras for the village parks

• Heard Project Success has received a USDA grant to provide free lunches to qualifying students during the summer. Physical activities are held from 10 a.m. to noon followed by lunch in the Spring Valley City Hall.

• Approved the payment of bills in the amount of $115,144.19.
