SVWC Work Day

SPRING VALLEY — The Spring Valley Walleye Club’s annual Work Day is set for Saturday starting at 7 a.m. from Barto Landing. Lunch will be provided by the SVWC.

IVYFL registration

SPRING VALLEY — Registration forms for the 2014 Illinois Valley Youth Football League are available at Heartland Bank and Trust in Spring Valley. IVYFL is a tackle football league for youth entering grades 5-8 in the Hall, DePue and Putnam County districts and private schools in the Illinois Valley.

PCA 5K Eagle Run/Walk

PRINCETON — Princeton Christian Academy will host its inaugural 5K Eagle Run/Walk at 8 a.m. Saturday, starting and finishing at Zearing Park in Princeton.

Registration made be made online at eaglerun5k.net or on Facebook at www.facebook.com/eaglerun5k. Individuals, families, track teams and running clubs are invited to “run and not be weary” in Princeton Christian Academy’s Eagle Run/Walk.

PAWS 5K run/walk

BUDA — The Bureau Valley PAWS 5K run/walk has been set for Saturday. Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. and the race begins at 9 a.m. Participants should park in the back lot of Bureau Valley South in Buda and then meet in the front lot.

Charity golf tourney

WALNUT — A charity golf tournament, with proceeds helping pay for the Fourth of July fireworks at the Walnut celebration, will be held Saturday at the Green River Country Club, Walnut. Players and hole sponsorships are wanted.

The event is for four-person teams. It will be a 1 p.m. shotgun start. To sign up or for hole sponsorship information, call the country club at 815-379-2227.

A benefit auction, with proceeds also going to the fireworks, will be at 7 p.m. at the country club. Donated items are being accepted.

Fireworks in Walnut will be at dusk on July 6.

Cheer Camp

PRINCETON — The Princeton High School cheerleaders, along with coach Emily Moats, are hosting their annual PHS Summer Cheer Camp for Pre-K to 8th graders from 9 a.m.-noon June 25-27. The cost is $60 which includes a camp T-shirt, cheer bow, instruction, and lots of fun.

PHS girls camp

Dad’s Day 5K

MENDOTA — Dads can celebrate Father’s Day with their own Dad’s Day 5K on June 15 at Strouss Park in Mendota. Check-in begins at 7 a.m. with the race set for 8 a.m. Entry fee is $20 by June 5 and $25 the day of race.

SCGC Junior Golf

SPRING VALLEY— Spring Creek’s Junior Golf begins its 16th year. The students of the game learn proper golf procedures and etiquette. These junior golfers develop physical and mental golf game, combining proper fundamentals and golf etiquette.

There will be a Junior Camp June 9-13 with beginners meeting from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. and intermediates from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

The junior golf league will be held at 8 a.m. on June 16, June 20, June 23, June 27 and June 30. the Illinois Valley Junior Golf Championship will be held Aug. 4. There will also be a Spring Creek Junior Member Tournament to be announced.
