TISKILWA — The Tiskilwa Village Board handled the following items at its meeting June 10.
• Board members approved spending up to $5,000 for 13-14 wheelchair access ramps on curb and guttered streets (Washington, Brewster and Main). A resident has collected $8,200 in monetary pledges for this project estimated to cost about $13,000.
• Board members approved accepting the donation of labor and materials from the Tiskilwa Community Association and Forristall Concrete to replace the sidewalk in the 100 block of West Main Street on the north side. The village will pay 50 percent of the estimated $9,500 cost for the project with the work to start June 23.
• Board members adopted the budget and appropriation ordinance and prevailing wage ordinance.
• Board members heard the village’s clean-up day is set for June 20, and M&M Recycling of Peoria will have an electronics recycling on June 21 from 8 a.m. to noon in the West Park. The Tiskilwa Library will have a grand opening Saturday during the Strawberry Festival with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at 11:30 a.m.
