Tiskilwa holds Strawberry Festival Saturday

Pickers of all ages will soon be filling the strawberry fields at Plow Creek Fellowship Farm, east of Tiskilwa, in preparation for the Strawberry Festival

TISKILWA — Tiskilwa's annual Strawberry Festival will be held Saturday. In addition to the festival, there will be lots of activities on Main Street, the west lawn of the Museum on Main, at the Tiskilwa Public Library and Piccolo's Pizza.

Fresh strawberries and shortcake will be offered by Plow Creek Farms. There will be an artists and artisans festival hosted by the Tiskilwa Historical Society. Participants include authors, watercolorists, photographers, bakers and fabric artists. They will display and sell their original work.

The Tiskilwa Public Library will hold a special open house for its newly completed addition and restoration. The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be at 11:30 a.m.

Phil Kaufmann will perform at 1 p.m. with children's games to follow. Piccolo's will be selling their pizza by the slice and there will be an Italian Ice stand.
