Crystal Notaro is the owner of HC Craft Mall and Antiques at 934 N. Main St. in Princeton which will have its grand opening on June 27.

PRINCETON — Crystal Notaro, owner of Homespun Creations Craft Mall and Antiques, located at 934 N. Main St. in Princeton, is planning a grand opening June 27.

“I rent out space to other crafters in the area,” she said. “There is no craft mall in the area since the one (Crafters Village) in LaSalle burned down (in 2010).” Notaro used to sell her items at this mall.

Notaro said she decided to open a store because she was asked by many people on a Princeton resale website when she was going to do this.

“We have a modge podge of items here,” she reported. “We have jewelry, signs for homes. antiques, home decor, candles. baby clothes, kitchen towels, bath and body items, outdoor decorations, floral items, and rugs, and stained glass in the future.”

Notaro was born in Princeton and lived in Tiskilwa, where she graduated from Tiskilwa High School.

“We also have lot of primitive items, and older linens in the 11 booths we have at the mall,” she said. “I am doing consignment to fill up these spaces.”

One of the people renting a booth makes keepsake bears from a special piece of clothing from a child who is too big to wear it now or a loved one wore when they were alive.

“This is a great little area,” she said. “There is parking across the street, and the farmers market draws people to the area. People are surprised how big the store is when they come here. It is bigger than people think when they walk or drive by the store.”

Hours for Homespun Creations Craft Mall and Antiques are 9:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. It is closed on Mondays. Her website address is homespuncreations40.com. She can also be contacted at 815-915-8591.

She is planning on having many free raffles and other activities all day during her grand opening.
