Helen Rinehart

DIXON — Helen M. Rinehart, 87, of Dixon died Tuesday, June 17, 2014, at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon, Ill. She was born in Dixon on March 23, 1927, the daughter of Ulrich and Caroline (Studach) Zuend.

She had worked at Freeman Shoe Co. and then Borg Warner in Dixon for 30 years prior to her retirement. She enjoyed playing cards. Helen was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church in Dixon, the Catholic Women's Club, the Dixon Elks Auxiliary, the Red Hat Society and T.O.P.S.

She married Kenneth Rinehart in Dixon Nov. 11, 1946. He preceded her in death on Nov. 22, 2009. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Carol Rinehart, and a brother, Joseph Zuend.

Survivors include her daughter, Linda Sullivan of Princeton; two grandsons, Jason (Angie) Sullivan of Lisle and Shawn Sullivan of Princeton; and three great-grandchildren, Tyler, Mikayla and Hunter.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Dixon, with the Rev. Bernard Sehr, pastor, officiating. Burial of cremains will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Dixon.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, June 19, with a Rosary recited at 8 p.m., in the Jones Funeral Home in Dixon. Visitation will also be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 20, in the church.

A memorial has been established.
