BUDA — The village of Buda is gearing up for an eventful July as two major village-wide activities are planned for July 19.
The Buda Village Board was informed of the plans for the events at Monday night’s village board meeting. The events are the Z-Tour Bike Ride and the annual Buda Picnic Day.
Village Treasurer Virginia Bollinger said the Z-Tour Bike Ride route, which will begin in Princeton, will pass through Buda. Bike riders will enter the village on State Road from the west and exit heading east on Main Street. The bike ride promoters will put up a tent on the north side of the park, which was approved by the board. Riders are expected to be in the village no later than noon. Ride promoters will mark village streets with white chalk paint for the riders to follow. The entire ride is 100 miles long.
The second major event of the day will be the annual Buda Picnic Day. It is open to residents of Buda only. Burgers and hot dogs will be provided. Participants are asked to bring sides and salads. Bingo and a few children’s games will be followed by an old-fashioned egg toss. The amount of games will be limited to the number of volunteers available to help. Bollinger suggested those who are interested in helping out should contact her directly.
