OHIO — The Ohio Community Schools have scheldued registration for all students from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Aug. 4 in the first floor computer room, room 111.
All students enrolling in kindergarten, sixth and ninth grades must have their physical exams completed at the time of registration with the immunization history signed by a health care provider. Dental exams are required for kindergarten, second and sixth grades. Dental exams are due on or before Aug. 4. The state of Illinois now requires all incoming kindergarten students to have an eye examination from a licensed optometrist which is due at the time of registration.
Social security numbers are needed for all high school students only.
The fees have been separated into two groups. The fee will include the use of Kunos in Grades 5-12, all class fees and the rental of locks. The cost of replacing a lock is $15. Milk with be separate for students in kindergarten to fifth grade and PE uniforms will be separate for students Grades 6-12. Students in Grades 6-12 are required to purchase a PE uniform. Shorts and T-shirts will also be available for purchase.
Fees for students in kindergarten to fourth grade are $60, for Grades 5-12 are $105 and PE uniforms are $13.
Milk at break time for all students, including free and reduced, kindergarten to fifth grade will be available at $30 per semester or 35 cents per day. Milk will be available during the lunch periods to all elementary and high school student at a cost of 35 cents per half pint of either white or chocolate milk or $30 per semester. Reduced lunch cost is 40, reduced breakfast is 30 cents. Regular prices for lunch is $2.75 and for breakfast is $1.50.
A student accident insurance program, paid by the school, is available to all student. The child will have coverage during school time, but an optional 24 hour coverage can be purchased.
Supply lists can be picked up at Sterlin, Princeton and Dixon Walmarts, Dixon ShopKo and Peru Target. Lists will also be availabel during school registrations.
The first day of classes for all students will be from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Aug. 14.
Kindergarten students and parents will meet with Kristen Ryan Aug. 13. Parents will schedule a 20-minute meeting at registartion from 2 to 5 p.m.
There wil be a 2 p.m. early dismissal Aug. 14-29. School will resume the normal 8 a.m. to 3:09 p.m. school day on Sept. 2. Whiteside Area Career Center students start classes on Aug. 19, and the bus leaves at 7 a.m.
