Rockies enjoy a close shave

B League Softball

• The Princeton A’s defeated LaMoille 12-11 Saturday at Westside Park in Princeton.

• On Monday, the Princeton Cardinals defeated Wyanet 15-2 while the Princeton Rockies outlasted Annawan 22-17 at Westside. The Rockies celebrated by giving coach Brandon Carlson a mohawk for winning three games in a row.

C League Softball

• Wyanet defeated the Princeton Cardinals 18-5 in the battle of the unbeatens Tuesday at Westside. Wyanet improved to 8-0 to secure the top seed in the upcoming league tournament,

Winning pitcher Mackenzie Law struck out eight in three innings. Riley Sterling had a two-run hit for the Cardinals.

Minor League Baseball

• The Princeton White Sox won 19-6 defeated Bureau Valley North 19-6 Friday at Walnut. The White Sox had hits from Keegan Fogarty, Wyatt (Earp) Baker, Brad McCall, Ethan Thompson, Steven Benavidez, Tom Makransky and Kaden Monroe. Sox runs were scored by Connor Maltas, Walker Menzel, McCall, Thompson, Makransky, Monroe, Fogarty and Baker.
