LASALLE — Stage 212 has the announced the cast for “Rent,” the edgy Tony Award-winning musical by Jonathan Larson. “Rent” tells the story of a group of impoverished young artists and musicians struggling to survive and create in New York City’s East Village, under the shadow of HIV/AIDS. Stage 212 is presenting “Rent” as a special production outside their regular season to raise funds to equip the front of the theater building with higher efficiency doors and windows.
Included in the cast are Kevin Alleman as Mark, Joey Beavers as Angel, A.J. Botero as Benny, Natalie Hrovat as Maureen, Casey Kasprowicz as Joanne, Sophie Smigel as Mimi, Andrew Strickler as Collins and Sean Walshas Roger.
Featured in the company are Leslie Crum, Jacob Damron, Clarissa Gerrard, Ashley Hurst, Ashley Keegan, Yvette Lucas, Sara Mason, Matt Nowakowski, Connor Oetzel, Alyssa Plochocki and Jacqui Whitmore.
Production staff includes director Daniel Haun, producer Chris Jauch, music director Alex Guerrero and choreographer Richard Smith.
“Rent” will be presented at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 7-9 and at 2 p.m. Aug. 10. Tickets are available for $20. The box office will be open from 4 to 6 p.m. Mondays and from 9 a.m. to noon Saturdays.
