BV FFA attends state convention

MANLIUS — Seven Bureau Valley FFA members attended the 86th annual Illinois State FFA convention held at the Prairie Capitol Convention Center in Springfield June 10-12.

The FFA members heard from keynote speaker Kyle Scheele who delivered his speech titled, “Story of My Life.” Members attended general business sessions, recognized members for outstanding supervised agricultural experience programs, career development event winners and various chapter awards.

While at convention, Nicole Bannick received her Illinois State FFA Degree; Andrew Smith was recognized with the Silver Chapter President Award; the chapter received the Silver Award in the national chapter award competition; and silver placing in the chapter scrapbook competition.

Chapter President Kristyn Ehnle and chapter secretary Annika Carter served as delegates electing the 2014-15 state officer team. Other chapter members attending convention served as ushers during two sessions of the convention.
