Virginia Schulte

PERU — Virginia Rae “Ginny” (Webster) Schulte, 86, of Peru passed away peacefully in her home Tuesday, July 1, 2014.

Virginia was born June 25, 1928, in Joliet to George and Frankie (Woodward) Webster. She graduated from Indiana State University with a bachelor’s degree in music and English. She married Robert W. Schulte on May 10, 1952, at St. Patrick’s Church, LaSalle. He passed away July 15, 2000. Together they had four children.

Virginia was a homemaker and a teacher at Hall High School. She enjoyed going to the opera, symphonies, Stage 212 and especially Ravinia. She was a member of St. Joseph’s Church in Peru and LaSalle Women’s Club, and was director of Lyric’s and Harmonaire’s singing clubs.

Survivors include her children, Barbara (Ed) Lischewski of Dalzell, William (Peg) Schulte of Granville, Becky Olsen of Stoneham, Mass., and Jane (Patrick) Finnigan of Carmel, Ind.; six grandchildren, Jody Lischewski, Jennifer (Sachin) Goel, Blake Young, Liz Schulte, Kelly Olsen and Gwen Schulte; four great-grandchildren, Liam, Jack, Milo and Shaila; and her siblings, Jack (Connie) Nicholson of Indian Wells, Calif., and Jean Johnson of Los Angeles, Calif.

Virginia is preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Robert.

Services and burial will be private.

Memorial donations may be directed to Stage 212 or the donor's choice.

A kinder and more thoughtful person cannot be imagined and her loving memory will be treasured by all whom she knew.
