SPRING VALLEY — A 30-year-old Spring Valley man was LifeFlighted to OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria after being found underneath a train on the railroad tracks about one mile east of Route 89.

According to a Spring Valley Police report, officers received a call from Iowa Interstate Railroad at 2:09 a.m. July 4 after the conductor reported seeing the man laying between the rails on the tracks.

The driver of the vehicle struck a parked car, and police learned the driver had apparently left the scene on foot.
