SV All-Stars 13U team advances to state finals

SPRING VALLEY — Spring Valley Little League Intermediate All Star 13U Team advanced to the state finals in the intermediate division by winning a four-team sectional tournament July 6 in Rock Falls.

They will advance to the 2014 Little League Intermediate 13U All Star State Finals Tournament hosted by Alsip Little League.

Spring Valley is scheduled to play at 2:30 p.m. Saturday against the Section 4 champions (Warren Park).

Spring Valley went undefeated in sectional play, beating Rock Falls in round 1 on July 2 by a score of 6-3, and beating Moline in round 2 on July 3 by a final score of 14-13 in extra innings.

In the championship round on July 6, Spring Valley beat Rock Falls 5-1.
