Dean reunion

TISKILWA — The 77th annual Dean reunion will be held at 12:30 p.m. Sunday at West Park in Tiskilwa. Those attending should bring drinks, table service and covered dishes according to the size of their family. The officers are Judy Schindel Schmitt, president; Kenny Dean, vice president; and Alice Schindel, secretary.


WYANET — Bureau Valley South Track will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker.

Lunch in the Park

PRINCETON — Princeton Buddy Bags will host Lunch in the Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 1. Delivery is available to businesses in the Princeton city limits by emailing before 5 p.m. July 31.

Quilter guild meeting

PRINCETON — The Covered Bridge Quilters Guild will meet at 7 p.m. Aug. 7 at the Evangelical Covenant Church, 24 N. Main St., Princeton. The program, yellow creek trunk show, will be presented by Jill Shaulis and Vicki Olsen. There will be an installation of officers. Pie and ice cream will be served. Guests are welcome to attend for $5.

Drawdown planned

PRINCETON — Princeton Buddy Bags will host a “Back to School” drawdown Aug. 16 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $40 each and include dinner for two. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Prizes will include $500, $250 and $125. Live music will be provided by 212.

Overdose Memory Walk

PERU — The third annual Overdose Awareness and Memory Walk will be held at 10 a.m. Aug. 23 at Baker’s Lake in Peru. For more information, visit or email

Breakfast planned

MALDEN — The Malden Fire Department will hold its annual pancake and sausage breakfast from 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. Aug. 17 at the Malden firehouse. Tickets are $6 for adults, $4 for ages 5-12 and free for preschool and under.
