Sweet corn sale
PRINCETON —The Princeton Optimist Club is selling sweet corn in the parking lot in the 500 block of North Main Street in Princeton for $4 a dozen. Proceeds will go to help finance activities such as Princeton Youth Baseball and Softball, Princeton Youth Soccer, JFL, the annual Easter egg hunt, Halloween parade, pumpkin races and many other youth activities.
LASALLE — Because of outstanding ticket requests, Stage 212 has added a performance for its special production of “Rent” at 7:30 p.m. Aug. 10. WYANET — The United Pentecostal Reach program will host a cookout from 10:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the Wyanet Locker. They will be serving ribeyes, butterfly chops, pork burgers, brats, hot dogs, chips and soda.

PRINCETON — Princeton Buddy Bags will host a “Back to School” drawdown Aug. 16 at the Princeton Elks Lodge. Doors will open at 5 p.m. Tickets are $40 each and include dinner for two. Only 200 tickets will be sold. Dinner will be served from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Prizes will include $500, $250 and $125. Live music will be provided by 212.
