SPRING VALLEY — A presentation and book signing will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Wednesday in the community room at the Spring Valley City Hall.
Paolo Battaglia, author of “Explores Immigrants Citizens - A Visual History of the Italian American Experience from the Collections of the Library of Congress,” will also present a slide show and background information about his book. Enrico Belgrado of the Association “Italian Art of Living” will follow with a video, “… wandering off the beaten track … the treasure of Emilia Romagna,” about some of the food products from that region. A special program, called “Made of Italians”, will describe “Expo Milano 2015” dedicated to the Italians living abroad, with the aim of offering a unique experience of visiting their land of origin for the first time, or simply to return in the year of a major world event.
A book signing by Paolo, accompanied by a tasting of food products, will complete the presentation.
A dinner will be from 6 to 8 p.m. at Verucchi’s Ristorante. The dinner is open to the public, and tickets are advance only. Tickets are $16 each and include family style chicken, pasta, salad and soft drinks, tax and tip. A cash bar will be available.
