Bureau County Garden Walk shows off the great outdoors
The semi-annual Bureau County Garden Walk was held July 12. The program started at the Pollinator Garden next to the Princeton Library. It rained so the program moved inside to start and then out to the garden for more information after the program. Ellen Starr, a biologist with the USDA, told about chemicals that hurt the bees and butterflies and hummingbirds that pollinate our gardens and help make the food we survive on. She points out the different types of plants in the Pollinator Garden. Eleven gardens were open for viewing in Princeton, Tiskilwa, Malden and Spring Valley.
