Donald Yarro

PRINCETON — Donald Gene Yarro, 73, of Princeton passed away Saturday, July 12, 2014, at Perry Memorial Hospital in Princeton.

He was born in 1940 in Oak Park, Ill., to Dominic and Arlene (Olson) Yarro. He graduated from Proviso High School in 1958 in Maywood. Donald married Karen Lynne Atwood at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Melrose Park on Oct. 6, 1962. He spent his lifetime in pipeline construction and maintenance for NICOR Energy before retiring after 40 years in 1996.

Donald was all about automobiles — all cars, a car lover and a car buff. And if it wasn't about cars then it was about being an antique wanderer, wonderer and enthusiast and, yes, cars come into play there as well.

Bob is survived by his wife, Karen of Princeton; his daughter, Kimberly (Robert) Dorman of Bureau; three grandsons, Bryan Oliver of Princeton, Matthew Dorman of Bureau and Robert Dorman Jr. of Lombard; and two great-grandchildren, Henry Oliver of Bureau and Evelyn Dorman of Lombard.

He was preceded by his parents and one son, Michael Yarro.

Graveside services will be at 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, July 16, at Glen Cemetery in Paxton, north of Champaign. Family and friends will meet at the Baier Funeral Home, 406 E. Pells St. in Paxton, at 3 p.m. prior to going to the cemetery.

The family will receive friends during a visitation for Donald from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 15, at the Norberg Memorial Home in Princeton.

Memorials, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to Children's Hospital of Illinois.

Arrangements have been made through Norberg Memorial Home and online condolences may be left at www.norbergfh.com.
