HENRY — Heartland of Henry has again received outstanding state survey results and with this most recent survey, no deficiencies. The survey is conducted annually at all nursing centers by the Illinois Department of Public Health as a way to measure the quality of care delivered in all skilled nursing centers.
“I applaud the positive attitude and commitment to providing exceptional clinical and therapy services which ensures our patients are treated with the greatest level of dignity, comfort and enjoyment possible whether it be for patients in our short term rehabilitation program or long-term patient care,” said Susan M. Legner, administrator at Heartland of Henry. “Our scores reflect the commitment to excellence that we strive to reach every day. I’m very proud of our team. We continue to be the only five-star rated facility in the Illinois Valley area. Heartland of Henry was the first to offer rehab to home services over 25 years ago and continues to be a leader and innovator in patient care and services.”
The survey is a detailed process where the center is expected to adhere to an extensive list of rules and regulations designed to ensure the safety, well-being and dignity of each resident. The process can include interviewing staff, patients and families, analyzing patient documentation and observing staff in all areas of business. Citations for not meeting a regulation are called deficiencies.
“Our success is reflective of the commitment to excellence and caring on the part of every employee,” said Daniel Johnston, regional director of Operations of HCR ManorCare, Heartland’s parent company. “Our survey results reaffirm that our patient’s best way home is through our doors. On average, 89 percent of rehabilitation patients admitted to Heartland Health Care/HCR ManorCare centers return home. We are proud of our accomplishments and of our contribution to the community. Heartland of Henry consistently shines in this intensive survey process. Our company focuses on being committed to service and care every day and Heartland of Henry certainly lives this philosophy.”
