Princeton Community Band prepares for concert

PRINCETON — The Princeton Community Band will present a concert at 6 p.m. July 20 in Soldiers and Sailors Park in Princeton. Phil Kaufmann will be singing Gershwin’s “I Got Plenty o’ Nuttin” from “Porgy and Bess,” as well as “At a Dixieland Funeral” with Dixieland Combo: Gene Montgomery on clarinet, Zach Taylor on trumpet, Tim Harris on trombone, Mitch Campbell on tuba and Aaron Nelson on drum set.

Three more brand new pieces on the bill include selections from “Les Miserables,” “The Best of Mancini” including “The Pink Panther,” “Baby Elephant Walk,” “The Sweetheart Tree” and “Peter Gunn” and “Grand Canyon Suite” by Ferde Grofé. The concert is free, lawn chairs are suggested and refreshments will be available for purchase.
