IVCC nursing program gets $20,000 donation
OGLESBY — The Illinois Valley Community College nursing program recently received $20,000 for instructional equipment from the Adele Bucar estate.
The gift will be used to help purchase an automated medication administration system that is similar to the one used in district hospitals.”
This is a wonderful gift,” said Dean of Health Professions and Director of Nursing Bonnie Campbell. “Our students will now be able to practice with this equipment in a controlled lab environment before using it for the first time in the hospital setting.”
Bucar, 86, of Peru, died Feb. 19. A 1948 graduate of St. Mary’s Hospital School of Nursing, she was an RN at Alexian Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove Village. A $10,000 gift from Seattle Sutton also contributed to the equipment purchase.
