Toastmasters chapter to form in the Princeton area

Informational meeting set for July 22

PRINCETON — Toastmasters will hold an informational meeting on forming a new area chapter on July 22. The meeting will be at 6:30 p.m. in the meeting room (north side door) at the Bureau County Republican in Princeton. Members of the public are invited to attend to learn more about Toastmasters.

Toastmasters International is a non-profit educational organization that teaches public speaking and leadership skills through a worldwide network of meeting locations. Local clubs have been dedicated to helping people become better speakers and leaders.

“Toastmasters provide a supportive and positive environment where members have the opportunity to overcome their fear of public speaking and sharpen presentation skills,” said Bharat C. Shanmugakani. “Other benefits include the opportunity to increase one’s confidence, build critical thinking skills and become an effective listener,” said Meg Murphey.

The group will meet from 6:30 to 7:45 p.m. on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month in the meeting room at the Bureau County Republican. Guests are welcome.
