Area schools make coaching appointments

Area school officials are finalizing their coaching staff for the upcoming school year and fall sports season.

The Princeton High School Board recently approved its coaching staff for the 2014 fall sports season.

David Gray was appointed as the new head boys soccer coach with Rod Jaggers appointed as assistant boys soccer coach. Gray takes over for former head coach Jason Bird, who resigned following the 2013 season.

The remaining head coaches returned.

Andy Puck as head volleyball coach with Eric Tinley and Josie Gustafson appointed as assistant volleyball coaches.

Jesse Snyder as head football coach with Steve Amy, Tim Ciesielski, Dan Foes, Rob Jensen and newcomer Brik Wedekind appointed as assistant coaches.

Other appointments include Connie Lind as head girls tennis coach with Beth Peacock appointed as assistant coach; Pat Hodge as head cross country coach; Duane Price as head boys golf coach; and Will Gross as head girls golf coach.

Abby Cochran returns as head poms coach and Emily Moats as head cheerleading coach.

At Bureau Valley: Robert Uzumecki was approved Tuesday as assistant football coach; Wayne Bailey was approved as volunteer volleyball coach at Bureau Valley High School; the BV Board accepted the resignation of Katie Bosnich as special education aide at BVN and freshman volleyball coach at BVHS.

At LaMoille: As reported earlier this month, Holli Rapp has been named as the head girls basketball coach, a hire which was approved at Monday’s school board meeting.

At DePue: Josh Johnson was recently approved as dean of students and athletic director at DePue High School, replacing Jim Barto, who resigned both positions. Johnson had been a physical education teacher at DHS.
