BCGS to feature Wild Bill Hickok program

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Genealogy Society will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday, at the BCGS library at 629 S. Main St. in Princeton.

The meeting will feature a program on the topic of “Wild Bill” Hickok who was born and raised on a farm near Troy Grove in LaSalle County. The program will be presented by Steve Dancy, a retired state policeman, who worked in the Field Museum in Chicago and also was a seasonal park ranger at the Little Big Horn Battlefield where he gave programs. His background also involves an appearance on the History Channel and work as curator for the Mendota Museum and Historical Society.

The public is invited to this free program.
