PRINCETON — Mindy Leone has incorporated historical and modern items into her recently opened store called juniper & mae located at 930 N. Main St. in Princeton.
“We have an eclectic mix of styles: Bohemian, urban, vintage, modern, a little country,” she said. “We will carry an assortment of jewelry and accessories, children’s gifts and apparel, home decor including pillows and wall art, personalized, embroidered, and holiday items, and much more.”
Leone has also used some of the items like counters, racks and doors from the Anderson Clothing Store that had operated in this building for many years.
Leone, who had sold personalized items such as blankets, children’s merchandise and seasonal items online for 10 years, was asked by a realtor friend if she wanted to lease this retail space.
“We are here and have been busy,” she said. “We opened June 14.”
Leone sells women’s and juniors’ clothing, jewelry, handbags, candles and giftware. She also has a children’s section of handmade gifts. Leone also has a sewing area in the back of the building.
The store’s hours are 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from noon to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Her Facebook page’s address is juniperandmae. Her phone number is 815-875-8647.
Leone is a graduate of Princeton High School and Northern Illinois University.
