Lady Lions meeting

OHIO — New LaMoille/Ohio varsity girls basketball coach Holli Rapp will have a meeting at 7:15 p.m. Monday at Ohio High School for all girls interested in playing basketball in the 2014-2015 school year. If you can’t make it, you are asked to please contact Rapp at 815-866-7391.

PHS golf practice

PRINCETON — The Princeton High School boys and girls golf teams will hold optional summer practices on July 28 through Aug. 1. The workouts will be from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. at Chapel Hill Golf Course. All members of the golf team and incoming freshmen interesting in going out for golf are encouraged to attend to work on fundamentals, competition, and team chemistry.

BV JFL update

MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley Junior Football League football camp will be held July 29 through Aug. 1 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the JFL field in Manlius. You may sign up the first day of camp and there is no charge for camp.

Registration and equipment handout will be the last evening of camp. The cost for JFL is $40 per player. All checks should be made out to Bureau Valley JFL and payment is due at registration. All players must have a physical to practice. Physical forms can be turned in at registration.

All parents or guardians must sign a waiver form at registration showing proof
of insurance.

The first day of practice will be Monday, Aug. 4. Practices will generally run 4 to 6 pm Monday through Thursday with games on either Saturday or Sunday. More information will be available at registration.

Blaze tryouts

PRINCETON — The Bureau County Blaze ASA Softball Team is holding tryouts on Aug. 2 at the Princeton High School Softball Field located at 123 N. Homer Street, Princeton. The rain date is Aug. 3.

Tryouts for 13-and-under and 14-and-under will be at 9 a.m., 12-and-under and 10-and-under will be at 11 a.m. and 16-and-under will be at 1 p.m.

BV Color Races

MANLIUS — The Bureau Valley Booster Club 5K Color Race/Walk will be Aug. 2 at Bureau Valley High School in Manlius at 8 a.m. with a kids (ages 13 and under) color run immediately following the color run.

Participants may register at or by sending in the registration form. The 5K entry fee $30. The kids’ color run (ages 13 and under) is $20.

Easter Seals 5K

OTTAWA — The correct date for the ninth annual Easter Seals 5K Run/Walk for the Kids is Aug. 2 at Ottawa High School. Registration and check-in starts at 6:30 a.m. with the race starting at 8 a.m. Trophies will be awarded to the overall male and female winners and awards going to the top three finishers in each age division.
