Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? It would be an honor to be crowned Miss Bureau County Fair Queen. Bureau County has always and will forever be my home, even when I’m hundreds of miles away. I strongly believe that I would represent Bureau County to the fullest. I will use hard work, my kind heart and my determination to help serve and better our fair association and county.

Brooke Hickman, 20, of Buda

School: Bureau Valley High School graduate.

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? Being Bureau County Fair Queen would be not only a challenge to myself, but it would also give me the opportunity to impact the public and to further my involvement in the community.

Katie Elliott, 19, of Princeton

School: Sophomore at Illinois Valley Community College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be Miss Bureau County Fair Queen because I simply love my county and everything it stands for. The fair is important to me because it brings people together to make long-lasting memories, while still highlighting the many accomplishments of the hard-working people in my area. I have a deep appreciation for the fair traditions and for my community, and I’d have the opportunity to grow as a person.

Felisha Brunson, 20, of Neponset

School: Junior at Southern Illinois University

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? Being the Miss Bureau County Fair Queen would open so many opportunities to learn more about our county’s history and be involved in the traditions. I would also love to meet even more members of our community throughout my year.

Courteny Hadley, 17, of Princeton

School: Grade 11 at Princeton High School

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be Miss Bureau County Fair queen because it’s a way to meet new people and get involved in the community.

Amber Walesa, 19, of Spring Valley

School: Sophomore at Illinois Valley Community College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? Being a role model never really crossed my mind. I wanted to do this because I wanted to build self confidence and show that any girl can accomplish their dream with a little hard work and dedication.

Madigan Ellis, 17, of Princeton

School: 12th grade at St. Bede Academy

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? Because I have lived in Bureau County my whole life and would like to travel the state representing all that our county has to offer in agriculture and tourism.

Megan Hendrickson, 17, of Princeton

School: 12th grade at Princeton High School

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen because I’d love to meet new people, as well as visiting and getting to learn more about other communities in Bureau County other than Princeton.

Hannah Shearburn, 19, of Wyanet

School: Sophomore at Illinois Valley Community College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would be very honored to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen, so that I can be a representative of the place that I love the most. I have lived in Bureau County my entire life and would not have it any other way! I would like to show others all the reasons that Bureau County is so special to me.

Leanna Martin, 19, of LaMoille

School: Sophomore at Illinois Valley Community College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen because I enjoy being with people and helping others. I am proud to live in Bureau County and would like to educate people about our county and the wonderful people in it.

Morgan Knoblauch, 17, of Oglesby

School: Freshman at Illinois Valley Community College, graduate of St. Bede Academy

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? In addition to being a role model, I would be honored to represent Bureau County as its fair queen and use that platform to be an ambassador to help promote not only the wonderful fair, but Bureau County as well and its many, many attributes. The scholarship was also a draw for me, as I would use it to further my college education, pursuing a career in the health care field.

Ashley Rivera, 17, of Princeton

School: 12th grade at Princeton High School

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen because I want to inspire all girls of all ages that true beauty comes within themselves and that they should be confident in their own skin and with their personalities.

Emma Bryson, 19, of Princeton

School: Sophomore at Illinois Valley Community College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I think the experience as a whole would be a great way to meet new people and learn a lot about myself and the community.

Lindsy York, 17, of Princeton

School: 12th grade at Princeton High School

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? To make new friends, become part of the community (actively). To have a fun experience with the Junior Miss and Little Miss.

Nicole Holland, 17, of Princeton

School: 12th grade at Princeton High School

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I would like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen to promote our county to the surrounding area in a positive, respectful manner. This is a great opportunity to meet new people and gain many new life experiences. Bureau County is a great place to grow up, and I would love to give back to the community.

Laura Rieker, 17, of LaMoille

School: Freshman at Black Hawk East College

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? To represent Bureau County as fair queen would be an honor that I would remember my whole life. It would allow me opportunities to meet people and promote the way of life I’ve come to appreciate in this county. I look forward to my first pageant and all the exciting experiences I will have.

Susan Brummel,19, of Manlius

School: Sophomore at Black Hawk East

Other than being a role model, why would you like to be the next Miss Bureau County Fair Queen? I want to be the next Miss Bureau County because being a fair queen is about more than crowns and parades. It’s about living the country life, and that’s something I do. Being the fair queen is about representing the best parts of my home, and I would love the opportunity to do exactly that.
